So much to do and so little time! There has to be something for everyone in Bala and the surrounding area,from perhaps a gentle pursuit to a vigorous challenge - its your choice.

Watersports
Bala and Snowdonia offers some of the fiercest white water rafting areas in the UK. People travel long distances for this experience and River Tryweryn is well known for its fast rapids and thrilling white knuckle action as the National White Water Rafting Centre.

New to the sport? You will recieve expert tuition on dry land beforehand, as well as all the relevant equipment.

It's not just rafting that's popular though, Bala is also home to some of the most exhilarating canoe runs, so if you fancy going it alone under expert supervision, you can!

Mountain Biking
For those of us who like to keep dry, yet not lose any of the excitement, Bala is a great area for mountain biking. Bala and the surrounding area have a number of mountain bike shops and centres that offer equipment & bikes sales and hire, guided routes, and advice on where to go and where not to go.There is of course the National Track at Coed Y Brenin for your enjoyment as well as Llandegla in Denbighshire

Pony/Quad Bike Trekking
If you prefer engine power to pedal power, then why not explore the North Wales countryside on a quad bike? The vehicle of choice for many locals, these powerful 4 wheel off road bikes can literally go anywhere, ideal for the landscape of Snowdonia.

If you prefer four legs to four wheels, and prefer something all together more peaceful, then you can explore the North Wales countryside from the saddle on a gentle Welsh Pony. These trips are guided by an expert.

Activities include all relevant training and equipment.

Mountain Railways
For a serene experience in the North Wales hills, why not take a trip on some of Wales' outstanding mountain railways. With visitors from all over the world, and featured in many TV shows, the Ffestiniog, Llangollen and Bala railways offer a chance to see things inaccessible by any other means. Enjoy a luxurious experience whilst absorbing parts of Wales seldom seen!

And that isn't all! For the golfers amongst you,there is a golf club in Bala, not to mention others a little further afield in Llangollen, Harlech and Aberdovey.

If karting or rallying is for you, there are a number of centres in the area.

If however history, geography or geology are what you enjoy, then Snowdonia is the place. It is, of course, walkers' paradise with an abundance of glorious walks wherever you look.
